UEFI or Unified Extensible Firmware Interface is an improvement over the standard 'BIOS' we are all used to. With UEFI comes a feature called “Secure Boot” which is up for grabs with an evil plan called 'secure-boot'.

Memory for a computer normally means the RAM area where the runtime information is stored. When a computer starts, the operating system (in this case, Windows) would start off processes which require memory. They would then open handles to objects. This list would also have a table. There are a lot of other things like the page information, the security information, session information and so on which are all required to be in the memory. There are a lot of important parts of the operating system and the applications running on the system which are stored in the RAM (or memory).
